Cvent, a prominent technology provider for the meetings, events, and hospitality sectors, has announced the acquisition of Splash, a New York-based event marketing technology company. The deal seeks to equip marketers with advanced tools, extending beyond centralized event teams to field marketing efforts.
Splash’s platform enables marketers to design and implement branded, measurable, and repeatable event programs, thus fueling sales pipelines. The company boasts a client base that includes 60 of the Fortune 1000. A recent innovation is Attendance Insights, an AI-powered tool for predicting event attendance.
Cvent highlighted that this acquisition “reflects its commitment to extending best-in-class event technology beyond centralised events teams and into the field with easy-to-use tools that increase engagement and drive pipeline.”
Matthew Curry, interim CEO of Splash, expressed admiration for Cvent’s long-standing innovation in the meetings and events sector. “For over a decade we have empowered marketers to create valuable, repeatable events through our powerful, intuitive tools. With Cvent, we look forward to accelerating event marketing success, making it more accessible, measurable, and impactful for businesses worldwide.”
Reggie Aggarwal, CEO and founder of Cvent, sees a significant growth opportunity in the convergence of marketing and events driven by technology. He stated, “Pairing Splash’s expertise in field marketing events with our robust event and marketing platform further strengthens our ability to empower marketers to create and execute on-brand, high-impact event programs that deliver real results.”
The acquisition of Splash, which had successfully secured over $39 million in investment, follows Cvent’s earlier purchases of the AI-powered sourcing platform Reposite in June, alongside Jifflenow and iCapture on the exhibition front.
