Microsoft has launched two AI sales agents designed to automate key aspects of the sales process, from lead generation to closing, as part of Microsoft 365 Copilot. These new tools are designed to work with both Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce CRM systems.
The AI sales agents, expected to be available publicly in May, aim to streamline revenue operations. The Sales Agent autonomously converts contacts into leads by researching prospects, scheduling meetings, and engaging with customers, even completing simpler sales independently. It personalizes interactions by accessing CRM data, company resources, web information, and Microsoft 365 communications.
A companion tool, Sales Chat, provides actionable insights from various data sources, accelerating sales cycles. Sales representatives can receive risk assessments for deals, meeting preparations, and strategic plans through natural language prompts, eliminating manual navigation of CRM interfaces.
Microsoft reports strong adoption rates: nearly 70% of Fortune 500 companies are using Copilot, and over 400,000 custom agents were created last quarter using Microsoft Copilot Studio. Several companies are already seeing benefits.
Vodafone anticipates a doubling or tripling of its proposal response capacity. Additionally, Campari Group reduced marketing copy costs by 18%. ANS has also seen an impact; CEO Richard Thompson noted a 133% year-over-year revenue increase per sales representative after migrating from Salesforce to Dynamics 365 Sales, along with 30 minutes saved daily and a 20% increase in pipeline generation after implementing Microsoft 365 Copilot.
To support broader implementation, Microsoft is launching the AI Accelerator for Sales program on April 1st, providing expertise in CRM migration, seller adoption, and AI agent customization.
