Momentum Health, a leader in AI-driven spine imaging and remote monitoring, has teamed up with the Harms Study Group, an international network of surgeons specializing in pediatric spinal deformities. This collaboration, supported by the Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation, aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of scoliosis and related conditions.

The partnership will incorporate several cutting-edge technologies. These include digitized patient questionnaires, which will simplify data collection for families and clinicians; 3D topography scans, offering detailed digital models of a patient’s trunk without radiation; wearable activity tracking for a comprehensive view of a patient’s daily progress; and brace-monitoring systems to ensure compliance with prescribed bracing regimens.

This collaboration represents a significant step forward in pediatric spine care. By leveraging technologies like artificial intelligence, 3D scans, and wearable devices, the partnership aims to enhance both research and treatment outcomes. The use of AI in spine imaging offers rapid, accurate, and radiation-free detailed digital models. Wearable devices will offer continuous monitoring and comprehensive data on patient activity levels, while digital questionnaires streamline the data collection process.

    Industry Implications:

    • Health Technology: Digital health technology is transforming traditional medical practices with AI capabilities and innovative wearables.
    • Medical Devices: Smart technologies in orthopedic devices provide opportunities for personalized treatment and monitoring.
    • Pediatric Healthcare: Specialized innovations are offering improved outcomes in the treatment of spinal deformities for children globally.
