Co-op and Uber Eats Extend Partnership for Grocery Delivery

Co-op and Uber Eats have announced a three-year extension of their partnership, continuing their collaboration in the grocery delivery sector. The renewed agreement includes deliveries facilitated by Peckish, Co-op’s recently launched app designed to support independent grocery retailers.

Uber Direct, a white-label delivery platform, allows retailers to offer on-demand delivery directly from their own websites or apps. Since 2024, Uber Direct has supported Co-op’s online shop, enabling customers to order groceries through the Co-op app and receive deliveries via the Uber Eats network.

As part of the extended partnership, Uber Direct will now also handle deliveries through Peckish, Co-op’s app specifically designed to support smaller, independent grocery stores. Launched in February, Peckish aims to help family-owned businesses establish an online presence and offer online shopping with delivery services, overcoming challenges related to cost, size, and resources. The platform connects Co-op with these businesses through an EPOS system and streamlines tasks like pricing and stock control, offering retailers data, trends, and market insights.

The renewed partnership also confirms that Co-op will continue offering price savings to Uber Eats members. Currently, over six million Co-op members have access to savings on approximately 200 products when ordering through the Uber app.

Co-op and Uber have been working together since 2022, and the number of Co-op stores offering Uber Eats services has expanded to over 1,300 locations. Chris Conway, director of quick trade at Co-op, stated that the extended partnership reinforces their commitment to growing Co-op’s quick trade channel. “Innovation is fundamental to our approach, whether extending reach and choice, creating value through member price savings, or, delivering the Peckish app to give independent grocery retailers a voice online,” he added.
