Litera Revolutionizes Legal Workflows with Litera One
CHICAGO, March 19 – Litera, a global leader in legal technology, today announced the launch of Litera One and Litera AI+, two major innovations designed to streamline legal workflows.
Litera One is designed to be the first unified, cloud-based platform for the legal industry. It intends to seamlessly integrate drafting, contract review, and firm performance tools directly within Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Available April 14, Litera One seeks to eliminate workflow fragmentation by creating integrated, GenAI-enhanced processes. Lawyers can draft, analyze documents, evaluate market insights, and access client matter data and knowledge management all within a single ecosystem accessible across any device. The goal is enhanced efficiency by keeping users within their native workflows.
“While most legal tech providers offer point solutions and AI that address isolated challenges, Litera One is the first to truly connect firm performance, knowledge management, drafting, and review directly where our customers are already doing their work,” said Avaneesh Marwaha, CEO of Litera. “With Litera One, we are eliminating the need for lawyers to switch between up to seven different applications when working on a single matter, dramatically improving accuracy and consistency.”
At the core of Litera One is Litera AI+, a secure generative AI solution engineered specifically for legal workflows and integrated with Microsoft Azure’s OpenAI services. Unlike generic AI tools retrofitted for legal use, Litera AI+ for drafting understands the legal context and connects directly with Litera solutions, such as Litera Compare, Contract Companion, and DocXtools Companion, to create a continuous intelligence layer across the entire document lifecycle.
Adam Ryan, Litera’s Chief Product Officer, commented, “What sets Litera AI+ apart from other legal AI solutions is its deep integration throughout the entire workflow. Rather than simply offering AI capabilities as a standalone feature, we’ve embedded intelligence at every step of the legal workflow process. This connected approach means the system learns and improves as it moves between tasks, such as drafting, review, and analysis, while maintaining the highest security standards to protect sensitive client information.”
The unified Litera One solution offers several advantages for firms of all sizes:
- Connected Workflows: The platform seeks to eliminate friction between drafting, review, knowledge management, and firm performance.
- Contextual Intelligence: AI can remember previous edits, understand firm practices, and apply learnings across the legal work lifecycle.
- Universal Accessibility: Access the full Litera toolkit across any device or operating system without disrupting workflows.
- Collaborative Knowledge: Leverage institutional expertise and Litera AI+ insights within native workflows.
- Simplified Technology: The platform works as a more intuitive interface.
- Rapid ROI: The platform seeks to reduce IT overhead and simplify deployment.
The initial Litera One release includes the cloud-based versions of Litera’s drafting tools: Litera Compare, Contract Companion, and DocXtools Companion. Customers can run both desktop and SaaS versions simultaneously, allowing for flexible adoption. Upcoming releases will integrate Kira, Litera Transact, Litera Draft, Foundation, Foundation Insights, Foundation Finance, Foundation Scoping, and Foundation Clients, creating an end-to-end legal workflow.
Litera developed Litera One in collaboration with over 30 beta customers.
Tim Zgraggen, Technology Training and Digital Adoption Consultant for the Americas at Linklaters LLP, stated, “Throughout our collaboration, Litera listened intently to our feedback and addressed our concerns and suggestions, ensuring the solution met our unique needs. This partnership resulted in an interface that allows our team to focus on high-value tasks by simplifying complex processes, so we can both enhance productivity and deliver the highest quality of work to our clients.”
