Lenovo Announces Comprehensive New Hybrid AI Portfolio at Tech World 2024
Lenovo, a global technology leader, showcased its vision for “Smarter AI for All” at its annual Tech World event in Seattle, Washington, on October 15, 2024. The event highlighted Lenovo’s commitment to hybrid AI and its comprehensive portfolio of AI solutions, services, and devices designed to transform industries, enterprises, and individual experiences.
Building on the momentum from the previous year, Lenovo emphasized hybrid AI as a crucial path forward, integrating private and public clouds seamlessly. The company announced several new technologies, including the Hybrid AI Advantage for enterprises, the latest ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition AI laptop, the Lenovo AI Now local AI agent, and the Lenovo Learning Zone software platform. In addition, Lenovo continues to advance sustainability with next-generation Lenovo Neptune liquid cooling for servers and various proofs of concept demonstrating AI’s potential for social impact.
Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang was joined by several industry leaders, further illustrating the transformative impact of AI. “Building on the announcements from last year’s Tech World, we have been actively delivering on our hybrid-AI vision for customers and partners across the globe,” Yang stated. “Our strategy is to combine modularization with customization, so that we can respond quickly to customer needs while tailoring our solutions for them.”

This framework empowers organizations to rapidly translate intelligence into actionable results, leveraging the expanded partnership announced at the previous Tech World. The Lenovo Hybrid AI Advantage, enabled by collaboration across the full-stack AI portfolio, brings AI-powered compute with speed and ease. It also includes the new Lenovo AI Library, a comprehensive repository of ready-to-deploy AI templates that allows businesses to implement AI solutions with minimal complexity across various industries.
Advancing Sustainable and Efficient AI Infrastructure
Lenovo’s commitment to secure and efficient hybrid infrastructure extends from the edge to the cloud, setting a standard for sustainable high-performance computing (HPC) operations. The new family of ThinkSystem solutions is designed to remove up to 100% of heat. This includes servers that supercharge efficiency, bringing the NVIDIA Blackwell platform and NVIDIA GB200 to enterprises of all sizes. The sixth generation of Neptune liquid cooling systems is also rolling out to the partner ecosystem, enabling organizations to build and run accelerated computing for generative AI while reducing data center power consumption by up to 40%.
Personalized, Productive, and Protected AI Devices and Solutions
Lenovo is focused on providing a diverse ecosystem of hybrid AI capabilities across its vast portfolio, which includes PCs, smartphones, mixed-reality devices, tablets, device accessories, servers, storage, and public/private cloud. The integration of AI is designed to boost hyper-personalization, ultra-productivity, and unprecedented data processing protection for work, education, and personal use.
Lenovo unveiled its next generation of personal AI, which aims to change how people work and interact through AI integration. Key announcements included the Lenovo AI Now local AI agent, the new ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition AI laptop, and the Lenovo Learning Zone, an AI-powered personal educational software platform. Additional demonstrations included the Lenovo AI Buddy visual interactive module and advanced technology demos featuring Workstation AI solutions and ThinkShield AI PC security, illustrating Lenovo’s leadership in cutting-edge AI solutions.
Motorola announced the launch of new moto ai experiences into beta testing, with plans for progressive expansion through the end of the year. The initiative aims to enhance smartphone interaction by simplifying communication, auto-identifying actionable information, and providing AI-generated content context for photos.

Lenovo is also introducing innovative technologies with a strong focus on empowering individuals, preserving cultural heritage, and improving lives. Lenovo also showcased an AI-powered communication solution for individuals with ALS, which combines AI avatars, eye-tracking technology, and predictive LLMs. Additionally, they announced a clinical-grade arrhythmia detection platform developed in collaboration with InCor, the largest cardiac hospital in Latin America, designed for real-time monitoring via a wearable IoT device.
