    IBM’s Global Head Meets with Indian Minister to Explore Collaboration in Emerging Technologies

    IBM and Indian Government Discuss Tech Collaboration

    In a meeting signaling a commitment to technological advancement, Shri. Arvind Krishna, Global Head of IBM Corporation, met with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh to explore potential joint ventures.

    The focus was on potential collaborations in the fields of Quantum, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and geospatial AI solutions, highlighting India’s position as a leader in these next-generation technologies.

    India’s Tech Transformation

    Both parties recognized the significant transformation India has experienced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This has positioned India at the forefront of advancements in AI.

    Dr. Jitendra Singh, who is also Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, reaffirmed the Indian government’s commitment to a robust innovation ecosystem. He emphasized the government’s openness to partnering with the private sector, pointing to recent breakthroughs in the space sector as an example.

    Fostering Innovation

    Dr. Singh also highlighted the government’s support for deep-tech innovation. He stated that India is actively seeking global partnerships to scale up technological advancements. He mentioned the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and expressed confidence in India’s youth in achieving the Viksit Bharat @ 2047 goals.

    Further emphasizing India’s drive for technological self-reliance, Dr. Singh stated that India is either at par or ahead of other nations in embracing emerging technologies. Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, assured full support from government institutions to facilitate these collaborations.

    This meeting reflects a pivotal opportunity for India to become a global leader in quantum computing, AI, and deep-tech innovations. Those in attendance from the IBM delegation expressed their commitment to deepening IBM’s engagement with India’s technology ecosystem.
