Trump Shares AI-Generated Meme, Reigniting ‘King’ Comparisons

In a series of recent social media posts, Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image, once again drawing comparisons to the concept of kingship. The move follows earlier instances where the former president appeared to embrace the title, sparking a new round of debate.

The image, originally posted by a supporter on X (formerly Twitter), depicts a lion in a tuxedo and crown bearing the acronym “MAGA.” Trump shared the post on Truth Social early Monday morning, offering no additional caption or context.

The original post came from X user @Donna_Twitting, who had commented on a video shared by Elon Musk of the two NASA astronauts.

This isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Trump has hinted at a royal association. On February 19, he declared himself “king” on Truth Social, following moves by the Trump administration to try to block new tolls for Manhattan drivers. This statement echoed comments he had made just days before when he appeared to quote former French dictator Napoleon Bonaparte.

“CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!”

After these comments, the White House’s X account had also shared his statement with an AI-generated mock cover of Time magazine featuring a portrait of the president wearing a crown under the caption “long live the king.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul responded to Trump’s comments, stating, “We are a nation of laws, not ruled by a king.”
