The Indian government is investing heavily in its space sector, with a new ₹1,000 crore funding scheme designed to boost startups in the field. This initiative, announced by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, signals a strong commitment to cultivating innovation and expansion within India’s space program.
According to the Minister of State (independent charge) for Science & Technology, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space, the funding reflects the government’s dedication to the sector. “Even in the initial 100 days of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi 3.0 government, we have allocated ₹1,000 crore for space startups,” Singh stated.
This substantial investment aims to propel the growth of space startups in India over the coming years, fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and technological advancement.
