Trump’s SEC Pick Pledges ‘Rational’ Crypto Regulations
Paul Atkins, President Donald Trump’s pick to head the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has committed to establishing a dependable regulatory structure for digital assets. According to prepared remarks made public by the Senate on Wednesday, Atkins stated that he would ensure regulations under his leadership benefited the crypto sector and prevent politics from “stifling” capital formation.
“A top priority of my chairmanship will be to work with my fellow Commissioners and Congress to provide a firm regulatory foundation for digital assets through a rational, coherent, and principled approach,” Atkins stated in his written remarks.
Atkins is scheduled to appear for a Senate confirmation hearing on Thursday.
