Tech CEO’s LinkedIn Hack: A Fast Track to Top Tech Jobs

In today’s competitive job market, particularly for Gen Z, the quest for employment can feel like navigating a complex maze. As a response, tech CEO Michael Yan has revealed a LinkedIn hack, claiming it helped him land job offers at prominent companies like Meta, Microsoft, and Google. This strategy, which involves applying to jobs within the hour they are posted, could provide a fresh approach for those struggling to get hired.

Michael Yan’s LinkedIn strategy could provide a new method for job seekers navigating a competitive market.

    The Strategy: Speed and Precision

Yan, the CEO and founder of AI assistant company Simplify, shared his method on LinkedIn, where he has over 150,000 followers. He noted that he used to spend a significant amount of time on job boards, searching for new listings. His solution? Identifying and applying to jobs as quickly as possible after they are posted.

He discovered a feature on LinkedIn that enables users to filter job postings by how recently they were added. By using this feature, Yan claims to have successfully received job offers from Meta and Google. He suggests that the key is being among the first to apply.

    How the LinkedIn Hack Works

For those eager to try this approach, Yan outlines a simple three-step process:

    1. Enter desired job titles in the LinkedIn job search function.
    2. Use the “Date posted” filter to find jobs posted within the last 24 hours.
    3. Modify the URL to narrow the search to jobs posted within the last hour.

Yan explains that, within the URL, the number “86400” represents the number of seconds in 24 hours. Changing this to “3600” – the number of seconds in an hour – will refine the search results to show only the most recently posted jobs.

    Skepticism and Success

While some users have expressed skepticism at how such a straightforward trick could be effective, Yan points to his own experience as proof. He shared screenshots of alleged offer letters from Microsoft and Facebook (now Meta) in a previous LinkedIn post. Although it’s hard to verify the claims completely, the strategy’s simplicity has made it a popular topic among job seekers.

The Broader Context of Today’s Job Market

The general sentiment is that getting a job in 2025 has become a strategic challenge in itself. In addition to competition, job seekers must navigate automated filters. Often, the focus becomes quantity over quality, as candidates send out many applications. Yan’s approach may provide a shift in strategy, suggesting that speed and precision could be key to getting noticed. Others have tried different methods, like volunteering at conferences to network with recruiters.

As the class of 2025 faces the job market, a Handshake report indicates that 57% feel pessimistic about the start of their careers. Young job seekers are increasingly looking for unique methods (like Yan’s) to get a competitive advantage in a very challenging environment.

This situation is even more difficult for entry-level roles, which are becoming scarce. With this context, unconventional advice, like Yan’s LinkedIn hack, provides fresh hope for those seeking to start their careers.
