The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is supporting Hitachi Energy’s $70 million investment in three local facilities in Westmoreland County. This investment is expected to create over 100 new jobs and transform the Mount Pleasant facility into a state-of-the-art high-voltage products manufacturing facility.
The state’s investment of over $329,000 will help increase production capacity at the facility. DCED Secretary Rick Siger expressed excitement about the investment, stating that it demonstrates Pennsylvania’s commitment to the energy industry. “It’s about doubling down on an existing facility and creating even more jobs in an industry where we know Pennsylvania is poised to lead,” Siger said.
Officials believe this investment will encourage other companies to invest in Pennsylvania, further boosting the local economy. The expansion of Hitachi Energy’s facilities is a significant development for Westmoreland County and the state as a whole.
