Two days after facing sales restrictions imposed by the Trump administration, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made a critical visit to Beijing on April 17 to preserve the company’s significant market in China. Huang’s trip was marked by high-level meetings, including a reception with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng at the prestigious Great Hall of the People. He Lifeng, who also holds a position on the Politburo, extended an invitation to Nvidia and other US firms to deepen their presence in China’s market. “We welcome more US firms, including Nvidia, to leverage their strengths here and gain an edge in global competition,” He Lifeng stated. In response, Huang expressed Nvidia’s commitment to expanding its operations in China, saying, “We look forward to deepening our presence in China and supporting the advancement of the local tech ecosystem.” Huang also met with Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and Liang Wenfeng, founder and CEO of DeepSeek, further solidifying Nvidia’s engagement with Chinese industry leaders.
