Amazon Unveils Fastest Kindle Paperwhite with 12-Week Battery Life for Rs 16,999
Amazon has launched the latest version of its Kindle Paperwhite e-reader in India, priced at Rs 16,999. The new device boasts several significant upgrades, including a larger display, improved performance, and enhanced battery life.

The all-new Kindle Paperwhite features a 7-inch display, the largest ever on a Paperwhite model, with a 300 ppi glare-free screen that mimics paper even in bright sunlight. The device also includes adjustable warm light and dark mode for improved readability in various lighting conditions.
The redesigned chassis makes this the thinnest Kindle Paperwhite to date, and it’s lightweight enough for comfortable one-handed reading. Amazon promises up to 12 weeks of battery life on a single charge, with recharging via a USB-C port. The device offers 16GB of storage and is waterproof, making it suitable for reading in multiple environments.
Additional features include X-Ray for looking up character and location details, Word Wise for simplified definitions, and a built-in dictionary with translation support. Customers can access a vast library of over 1.5 crore eBooks on Amazon’s Kindle Store, including titles in Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, and Marathi. Kindle Unlimited subscribers can read over 20 lakh titles, while Prime members get free access to a rotating selection of eBooks.
Covers for the new Kindle Paperwhite are available separately for Rs 1,999 in black, marine green, and tulip pink. The latest Kindle Paperwhite is now available for purchase on Amazon.in.
“The Kindle Paperwhite has been a popular choice among readers for years, and we’re excited to launch the all-new Kindle Paperwhite with upgraded features that our customers will value,” said Dilip R S, director and country manager, Amazon Devices India.
