Recent Developments in Artificial Intelligence for Event Technology

The event planning industry is abuzz with discussions about artificial intelligence (AI) technology. While debates about its drawbacks continue, the benefits, particularly for businesses, are becoming increasingly clear. Event planners are among those exploring how AI can streamline business processes, and several event-related AI software solutions are now available in the market.

Our sister publication, MeetingsNet, has recently shared several developments in this area:

    1. AI Writing Assistant: Cvent, a meetings tech company, has created this tool using generative AI to help event professionals and marketers produce engaging, on-brand event-related content more efficiently. This feature is available across Cvent’s event marketing and management platform, including areas such as attendee hub, registration, and Cvent supplier network.

    2. Project Spark: Gevme, an event-technology provider for the Asia-Pacific region, and the Professional Convention Management Association have launched a research and educational initiative to explore the impact of generative AI on the business events industry. This project will test AI and machine learning for various practical applications across business events to understand their effect on workforce productivity.

    3. Eventcombo’s AI-Powered Event Management Platform: In early June, Eventcombo began beta testing the latest version of its event-management platform, developed in partnership with the Alberta Machine Learning Institute. This platform aims to maximize the use of AI for coordinating business events, featuring improved tools for staff and task management with reduced manual schedule coordination and data entry. It will also assist in developing effective marketing communications.
