Synectics’ Ocular Integration Wins Major Contract with Stagecoach
Security and surveillance technology firm Synectics has announced that its systems integration business, Ocular Integration, has secured a contract worth approximately £1.1m with Stagecoach, the UK’s largest bus and coach operator. The contract involves piloting Ocular’s innovative On-Board Hub, a single-platform solution designed to enhance fleet efficiency, improve operator oversight, and elevate the passenger experience.
The On-Board Hub, developed in collaboration with Navaho Technologies Ltd., integrates various functionalities including automatic vehicle location, CCTV feeds, safety sensors, and real-time passenger information. This comprehensive system simplifies the deployment of on-board surveillance technology, thereby streamlining operations for Stagecoach.
Amanda Larnder, Synectics’ chief executive officer and chief financial officer based in Sheffield, expressed enthusiasm about the contract, stating, “We are pleased that Ocular has been awarded this contract with the UK’s largest bus and coach operator, which will be piloting its next-generation, on-vehicle technology.” Larnder highlighted that the contract recognizes Ocular’s extensive experience in the transport sector and its ability to develop tailored on-vehicle surveillance solutions.
The pilot is expected to be completed within 12 months, with plans for wider deployment upon successful completion. This project represents a continuation of Ocular’s long-standing partnership with Stagecoach, which began in 2003. Synectics is excited to roll out its innovative technology across Stagecoach’s fleet to enhance both operational efficiency and passenger experience.
