The catheter is designed for intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) imaging during cardiac ablation procedures. According to the company, SoundStar Crystal offers enhanced image quality compared to other ICE catheters on the market.

The SoundStar Crystal integrates with Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s Carto 3 mapping system, leveraging AI-powered mapping capabilities to streamline workflow for electrophysiologists. A novel AI algorithm enables the automatic generation of left atrial anatomy using images collected from the ultrasound catheter’s rotation in the right atrium. This integration simplifies the procedural workflow.
