A tech startup is shaking up the construction industry with a revolutionary new bulldozer that’s both quiet and driverless. Lumina brought its 40-ton electric autonomous bulldozer to San Francisco this week to demonstrate its capabilities. The company is currently in the prototype phase but envisions a future where construction work is done more efficiently and at lower costs through their ‘excavation as a service’ model. According to Lumina’s CEO, the San Francisco area, already familiar with driverless cars, is the perfect place to introduce this disruptive technology. The CEO expressed confidence that their innovation will transform the construction industry. While the driverless rig is still in development, the company aims to make construction work more cost-effective. Scott Budman provides more details in a video report.
