Kaluza, a United Kingdom-based energy software platform, has acquired Beige Technologies, a Melbourne-based solutions company, to enhance its capabilities for energy suppliers serving the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector. Beige’s advanced quoting, billing, and data orchestration tools will enable Kaluza to streamline pricing, generate valuable insights, and improve risk management for its clients.
Beige’s product suite, known as the Zoo, is designed to help energy suppliers navigate the rapidly evolving energy landscape. The flagship tool, Moose, is already being used by major Australian providers to generate tailored solar, battery, and grid quotes within minutes. Another core application, Spider, utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to reconcile billing data and assist energy suppliers in managing increasingly complex tariffs.
“This acquisition represents a significant milestone for Kaluza, as it opens up new opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond,” said Melissa Gander, Kaluza’s Chief Executive Officer. “By integrating Beige’s capabilities into our platform, we can unlock the potential for large-scale commercial users to accelerate their transition to a cleaner, decentralized energy system.”
Lee White, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Beige Technologies, noted that the company’s technology has been “battle-tested in Australia” and is now poised to make a global impact. “Many of the challenges we’ve addressed in Australia are now emerging globally, and we’re excited to scale our impact by bringing these high-performance tools to energy suppliers worldwide through Kaluza,” White said.
This acquisition builds on Kaluza’s global momentum, which includes a $155 million investment from AGL and a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation to expand its presence in Japan. The integration of Beige’s technology is expected to further accelerate Kaluza’s growth in the energy software market.
