UAE’s Tech Economy Shines at GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything in Berlin
Europe’s largest inaugural tech event, GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything, was held at Messe Berlin, placing the UAE’s innovation in the spotlight. The three-day exhibition brought together over 1,400 exhibitors, 600 global investors, and more than 500 speakers from over 100 countries, marking a significant cross-border tech mobilisation.
The UAE’s presence was prominent, with 65 organisations participating – the nation’s largest ever entrepreneurship and digital investment delegation to a European tech event. The UAE’s IT services market is projected to reach $3.76 billion by 2025, according to Statista data.
UAE Ministry of Economy Pavilion: Driving Innovation
The UAE Ministry of Economy pavilion featured several homegrown tech ventures addressing global challenges. Notable startups included Zeroe, providing comprehensive carbon management; Hikmah Labs, leveraging AI for industrial transformation; IngenioData, deploying AR and BLE-based indoor navigation; and Responsive Drip Irrigation, creators of the world’s first plant-responsive irrigation system.
Her Excellency Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, highlighted the strong partnership between the UAE and Germany, stating, “Germany is now the UAE’s second-largest trading partner within the EU.”
Dubai Pavilion: Showcasing AI-Powered Evolution
Organised by Digital Dubai, the Dubai Pavilion presented the city’s advanced public services and AI-powered evolution. Featured innovations included the Dubai Dashboard, a unified city-wide platform; the Dubai Monitor; DubaiNow; Smart Employee; and UAE PASS, the national digital ID.
His Excellency Younus Al Nasser, CEO of Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, Digital Dubai, emphasised the importance of integrating AI strategically and sustainably.
The event also saw participation from leading tech hubs, enterprises, and startups, further strengthening the UAE’s digital innovation momentum. High-level bilateral meetings between the UAE delegation and European ministers underscored shared ambitions in advancing innovation and investments.
