Google has unveiled significant artificial intelligence (AI) upgrades across its product landscape, including Search, Android, and cloud services. The updates, announced at the 2025 I/O conference, are powered by Google’s most advanced AI model, Gemini 2.5.
Reimagining Google Search
Google is transforming Search into an integrated AI chatbot with the introduction of AI Mode, which offers advanced reasoning and personalization. AI Mode is currently rolling out to all U.S. users and will soon enable agentic checkout and virtual try-ons for products. The new Search interface can shop on behalf of users, add items to online shopping carts, and even check out autonomously.
Enhanced Features Across Google Products
- Google Meet will now offer live translations in English and Spanish for subscribers, with enterprise users getting access later this year.
- Google Beam will convert 2D livestreams into realistic 3D experiences, creating a more immersive environment.
- The Gemini app has reached 400 million monthly active users, while AI Overviews have surpassed 1.5 billion users per month.
AI Model Advancements
Google has introduced several updates to its Gemini AI models, including:
- Gemini 2.5 Pro: Now in preview, with general release coming in weeks.
- Updated Gemini 2.5 Flash: A faster and more efficient model, set for general availability in early June.
- Deep Think mode: A high-performance version of Gemini 2.5 Pro for complex reasoning, currently in testing with trusted partners.
Expanded AI Integration
- Gemini will soon be available on watches, car dashboards, and TVs.
- Android XR: A new platform for immersive headsets and smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Samsung and Qualcomm.
- Imagen 4: A new image generation model with superior detail and text handling, available now.
- Veo 3: A state-of-the-art video model with native audio generation, available today.

As Google continues to enhance its AI capabilities, the company is addressing competition from AI chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. With these updates, Google aims to bring generative AI to more people than any other product in the world.
