Nita Akoh and Jay Nakhai, both graduates of Northeastern University, have joined forces to transform mental health care. Akoh, who graduated in 2023, founded MyAtlas, a platform that uses biometric data to provide personalized mental health insights. Nakhai, a 2010 graduate, established AEON Counseling, which offers counseling services. Their partnership enables AEON clinicians to access MyAtlas patients’ real-time biometric data, enhancing the effectiveness of their counseling.
The Partnership
The collaboration between MyAtlas and AEON Counseling was sparked by a chance connection between Akoh and Nakhai. Despite graduating 13 years apart, they discovered a shared passion for improving mental health care. Their companies complement each other perfectly, with MyAtlas providing the technological backbone and AEON offering the human touch through counseling services.

How it Works
MyAtlas collects data from users’ digital devices, such as sleep patterns and stress levels, and uses AI to provide culturally aware recommendations for managing mental health. The platform can identify when a user is stressed or not sleeping well and offer tailored interventions. AEON clinicians can access this data, allowing them to identify high-risk patients and provide more effective counseling.
Impact and Future Plans
To celebrate May Mental Health Awareness Month, Akoh and Nakhai announced a campaign to provide a year’s worth of mental health treatments for 100 college students. This initiative aims to address the mental health challenges faced by young Gen Z individuals. The partnership between MyAtlas and AEON Counseling represents a significant step forward in mental health care, combining innovative technology with personalized, human-centered counseling.
