Gigabyte’s Computex 2025 Showcase: Advancing Server Technology

At Computex 2025, Gigabyte unveiled an impressive array of server solutions that highlight the company’s commitment to innovation in the data center space. The exhibition featured a diverse range of products, including CXL and NVMe servers, liquid-cooled and air-cooled AI servers, and multi-node high-performance computing (HPC) solutions.

Gigabyte R284-A91-AAL3 CXL and NVMe Server

Gigabyte showcased the R284-A91-AAL3, a 2U E3.S platform powered by two Intel Xeon 6900 series processors. This server stands out for its innovative use of E3.S form factors, which allow for both NVMe SSDs and up to sixteen Micron CXL memory expansion modules. The unique CXL tray design accommodates Micron CZ122 128GB CXL modules, significantly enhancing memory capacity and bandwidth.

Each Intel Xeon 6900 series CPU benefits from 12 memory channels plus eight additional CXL memory modules, boosting overall performance. The server also features dual M.2 slots on the motherboard and two additional 2.5″ bays at the rear, providing ample storage options.

    Liquid-Cooled 4U AI Servers

Gigabyte presented a range of AI servers, including 4U 8x GPU compute servers equipped with liquid cooling technology. This innovative cooling solution reduces the rack space required from 6-8U to just 2U, enabling denser AI rack configurations. The liquid-cooled design focuses on key components like GPUs and CPUs, while still utilizing air cooling for DIMMs and SSDs.

The reduced height of the AI accelerator coldplate allows for the use of copper DACs instead of optical connections, decreasing costs and increasing reliability. This design enables companies to fit 8-10 servers in a modern AI rack, maximizing density with up to 80 GPUs per rack.

Gigabyte G893-SG1-AAX1 Intel Gaudi 3 Server

In addition to liquid-cooled solutions, Gigabyte displayed an air-cooled server featuring eight Intel Gaudi 3 AI accelerators in OAM form factor. This server is notable for its eight OSFP ports, which support the Intel Gaudi 3’s Ethernet-based scale-out architecture.

The server includes a CPU host compute sled with 10GbE management interfaces and eight 2.5″ NVMe bays, providing a comprehensive platform for AI workloads. The CPU compute tray utilizes 8-channel memory Xeon processors, allowing for 16 DIMMs per CPU and 32 DIMMs in total.

Gigabyte’s Computex 2025 showcase demonstrates the company’s leadership in developing innovative server solutions that address the evolving needs of data centers and AI applications.
