Cybernet Systems Wins 2025 CTMA Technology Competition with Innovative NDT Tracker
ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 17, 2025 – The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) has announced that Cybernet Systems Corporation has won the 2025 Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities (CTMA) Technology Competition. The competition, which is held annually, identifies the most innovative maintenance and sustainment technologies relevant to Department of Defense (DOD) operations.

The NDT Tracker enables accurate semi-automatic NDT for aircraft structural components, cutting labor in half by reducing the need from two inspectors to one. It eliminates hand-drawn grids and manual recording, using patent-pending AutoClick Combo-Filtering to auto-select accurate thickness readings. This results in a 10x efficiency gain, reducing average inspection time from 20 to 2 seconds per cell. The technology also generates color-mapped C-Scan reports over inspection area imagery, eliminating re-inspections due to miscommunication.
The competition received 35 entries this year, with three finalists presenting their technology solutions in an event livestreamed from NCMS headquarters. The judges selected Cybernet Systems’ NDT Tracker for its innovation, maintenance relevance, and potential impact on DOD operations. The technology is already in use at several Air Force bases and by commercial aircraft service companies.
As part of the award, Cybernet Systems will receive $100,000 in project support funding to be applied to a selected DOD demonstration initiative within the CTMA Program. The CTMA Technology Competition is designed to identify and transition innovative technologies to improve DOD maintenance and sustainment operations.
