Founder Revolutionizes Holistic Healthcare With $500K in Insurance Claims
Georgina Dukes-Harris’s transformative birthing experience led her to create Swishvo, a platform supporting holistic healthcare providers.
After having an emergency c-section, Dukes-Harris discovered a world of maternal health professionals she never knew existed – doulas, lactation specialists, and other practitioners outside traditional healthcare. “All I was told was to go to the OB GYN,” she told Hypepotamus. “No one ever exposed me to these more alternative or holistic roles. They could have really helped my birthing experience.”
This experience sparked an entrepreneurial journey. In 2013, Dukes-Harris began developing a business plan to connect people with these crucial healthcare resources. After over a decade in hospital administration, she revisited her plan and started researching the needs of holistic providers. Talking to over 1,000 practitioners revealed their lack of digital tools to grow their practices.

This research formed the foundation of Atlanta-based Swishvo, launched in July 2024. The platform helps licensed providers navigate insurance credentialing, verification, and claims submission. Holistic healers can use Swishvo’s marketplace to build their business, manage patient visits, track notes, and efficiently get reimbursements.

Dukes-Harris is committed to expanding Swishvo from the Southeast, a region with significant health disparities. She is now focused on bringing more providers onto the platform and building its investor pool through a community equity raise.
With her background from Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina, Dukes-Harris is well-equipped to build this healthcare technology solution. Swishvo’s progress demonstrates the potential for innovative healthcare solutions in the Southeast.
