As part of New York Tech Week, NYNext joined forces with Tech:NYC, PensarAI, and Two Trees to host the inaugural NY AI Demo Night. The event, held at The Refinery at Domino in Williamsburg, brought together nearly 150 attendees, including founders and venture capitalists, to showcase the city’s vibrant AI landscape.
Event Highlights
The evening featured eight AI companies presenting their latest innovations, with the goal of attracting downloads and investments. Caroline McKechnie, Director of Platform at Tech:NYC, highlighted the unique aspect of the NY tech scene: “One of the most unique aspects of the NY tech scene is the ability to bring together and showcase tech heavyweights implementing AI at scale alongside startups in deep builder mode.”

Some of the presenting companies included:
- Reality Defender, which demonstrated its deepfake detection capabilities
- PromptLayer, showcasing its AI app development platform
- IBM, presenting their latest AI insights and unveiling watsonx AI Labs in NYC
- Other notable presenters: Flora, Every.to, Superblocks, Run Loop AI, and Google’s Deepmind

New York Tech Week’s Growth
The event was part of New York Tech Week, which has grown significantly since its inception in 2023. With over 1,000 events and 60,000 RSVPs this year, more than half focused on AI. Tech:NYC CEO Julie Samuels emphasized the importance of these innovations: “The energy that is in this room, the startups that we’re going to hear from, these are the ideas that are going to propel New York’s economy for generations to come.”

The success of NY AI Demo Night demonstrates New York City’s position as a hub for AI innovation, bringing together established players and emerging talent in the field.
