News Corp has announced the promotion of Julian Delany to executive vice president and chief technology officer of the company’s global operations. Delany, who has spent the last 12 years at News Corp Australia, will succeed David Kline in the role after Kline leaves the company at the end of the financial year.
Delany has served as chief technology officer for News Corp Australia for the past five years, during which he has been instrumental in implementing technical and data alignment across the Australian business. Most recently, he oversaw the rollout of News Corp Australia’s generative artificial intelligence tool, NewsGPT.
Prior to joining News Corp, Delany worked in broadcast operations at Foxtel, gaining valuable experience that has contributed to his leadership role in technology at News Corp. The company credits Delany with driving significant technological advancements during his tenure as Australian tech chief.
