NiaHealth Puts Clinicians at the Heart of Proactive Health Platform
NiaHealth, a Canadian healthtech company, has secured $5.75 million in seed funding to accelerate its mission to bring proactive, preventive healthcare to Canadians. The Edmonton-based company has developed a tech-enabled platform that combines wearables, clinical-grade testing, and personalized guidance from human clinicians to help users improve their health trajectories. Plans start at just $299 a year, making comprehensive health management more accessible.

The company’s service begins with comprehensive at-home health assessments, including blood and urine samples that report on up to 100 biomarkers. This data is integrated with information from popular wearable devices, providing a holistic view of the client’s health. Each client receives a virtual consultation with a clinician who interprets the results and develops a tailored action plan covering nutrition, supplements, sleep, exercise, and other lifestyle factors.

NiaHealth’s approach focuses on healthspan rather than just treating illness, leveraging digital tools to engage clients in sustained health behavior change. The company’s nurse practitioner-driven model ensures that clients receive expert care, with ongoing support including six-month follow-ups to ensure accountability and progress.
The funding round, led by Golden Ventures and supported by various angel investors, brings the total raised by NiaHealth to over $8 million. According to Sameer Dhar, NiaHealth’s co-founder and CEO, the company’s vision is to make proactive health management a ubiquitous concept, engaging millions of people in their own health.
NiaHealth has already shown promising results, with 90% of clients discovering previously unknown health risks and 60-70% following recommendations after a year. The company aims to have 100,000 biomarker tests completed in Canada with its proactive health offering as its first major milestone.
