FTI Appoints New CEO: Jose Hidalgo Steps Up
Frontier Technology Inc. (FTI), a key supplier of specialized tech and data solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, has named Jose Hidalgo as its new CEO.
Ron Shroder, FTI’s former CEO and current Chairman of the Board, made the announcement. Shroder highlighted Hidalgo’s significant contributions over the past few years.
FTI operates from eight locations across the United States, with a notable presence in Huntsville.
Shroder shared his confidence in Hidalgo’s leadership, citing the company’s enhanced business model and stronger customer relationships. He emphasized the value FTI delivers in tackling complex data challenges.
“Jose Hidalgo has done a tremendous job leading the company for the last several years. He has matured our business model, deepened our collaboration with customers and increased the value we deliver to solve tough mission data challenges,” said Shroder.
Recent contract wins reflect FTI’s technological advancements and expertise. The company is excited to partner even more closely with clients under Hidalgo’s guidance.
Hidalgo joined FTI as CFO in 2018 and has been instrumental in developing and improving FTI’s products with AI/ML/predictive technologies. These advancements cover areas such as space operations, wargaming, maintenance, risk assessment, testing, and cybersecurity.
FTI has also implemented change management initiatives to boost organizational flexibility and teamwork.
In 2023, the company established two major technology centers of excellence to foster collaboration with the DoD, Intelligence Community, academic institutions, and industry partners.
Since June 2024, FTI has secured spots on major IDIQ contracts with Space RCO, the U.S. Air Force, and a large DoD cyber initiative.
Before FTI, Hidalgo served as the vice president of accounting and treasury at Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), an aerospace and defense contractor. Hidalgo expressed his gratitude and excitement about leading FTI’s innovative team. He declared their dedication to providing defense and intelligence agencies with effective data solutions to ensure success in their missions.
