True Anomaly’s Long Beach Expansion Signals Growth in Space Tech
True Anomaly Inc., a defense technology firm specializing in advanced space superiority systems, is expanding its operations to a 90,000-square-foot facility in Long Beach, California.
The new factory, located in Douglas Park, will function as a hub for new product development and vertical integration, and includes 20,000 square feet of office space for True Anomaly’s growing team.
City officials, along with representatives from other aerospace companies in the “Space Beach” community, such as Relativity Space, Rocket Lab, and Boeing, attended the announcement at a press conference held in the City Hall lobby on February 19, 2025.
Mark Seidel, Chief Financial Officer of True Anomaly, highlighted the significance of the Long Beach expansion. He said the new facility is roughly three times the size of its Colorado headquarters and the company plans to double its workforce this year, with talent acquisition being a major focus.
The Long Beach factory will be used to design, develop, and produce both hardware and software systems. It will also accommodate expanded classified operations. Also, it is close to a key customer in Space Systems Command. This is according to a press release.
Casey Harr, head of new product development, stated that the company will dedicate 70,000 square feet to design, develop and make new space superiority solutions. This will allow significant manufacturing to support customer needs.
True Anomaly plans to hire engineers specializing in electrical systems and software, along with individuals for manufacturing, assembly, and testing jobs at the new facility.
Mayor Rex Richardson expressed enthusiasm about the expansion. He said it aligns with the city’s vision of continuous growth and innovation. He is excited to welcome True Anomaly to the growing network of advanced companies in “Space Beach.” He looks forward to the possibilities in defense, technology, and aerospace that will improve the community.
