Trump’s Vision for Gaza: An AI-Generated Controversy
Former President Donald Trump has stirred controversy with an AI-generated video depicting his vision for the Gaza Strip. The 35-second clip, shared on his Truth Social platform, has been widely criticized for its bizarre and tone-deaf depiction of the war-torn region.
The video, titled “Gaza 2025,” begins with images of destruction and rubble, transitioning to a vision of a redeveloped Gaza with skyscrapers, palm trees, and luxurious yachts. The accompanying soundtrack includes a song declaring, “Trump Gaza is finally here.” The words “Trump Gaza” appear frequently throughout the video, on signs and buildings.

The clip includes several surreal elements, such as statues and busts of Trump, an Elon Musk AI lookalike, and a scene where Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, rendered in AI, sip cocktails topless by a pool.

One particularly jarring sequence featured belly dancers, which led to further criticism.

The video has been met with widespread criticism, with many social media users calling it “bizarre.” Critics have also pointed out Trump’s previous statements about the US “owning” Gaza and relocating its 2 million residents.
“This is a reminder that in recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly said that the US will ‘own Gaza’ and has said its 2 million residents will be relocated,” the Republicans Against Trump social media account posted.
During a White House press conference on February 4, Trump stated his intention to transform Gaza from a “hell hole” into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” He suggested that the US would “own” Gaza, which has seen significant destruction and casualties amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. Additionally, Trump proposed the resettlement of displaced Palestinians in areas where their leaders currently do not allow.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Trump, saying that he is “an outside-of-the-box thinker and a visionary leader who solves problems that many others, especially in this city, claim are unsolvable.”
