Last month, former U.S. President Donald Trump put forth a controversial plan concerning the Gaza Strip. His proposal involved the expulsion of the two million Palestinians currently residing in the war-torn territory, denying them any right of return and the United States taking over the region and ‘developing it.’ At a press conference on February 4th, Trump described his vision, stating, “I don’t want to be cute, I don’t want to be a wise guy, but the Riviera of the Middle East could be something… This could be so magnificent.” The plan, however, was met with widespread condemnation from world leaders, activists, and religious figures, with many labeling it as a form of ethnic cleansing.
More recently, Trump shared an AI-generated video on Truth Social and Instagram, offering a glimpse into his vision for the future of Gaza. The video depicts a transformation of the territory into a luxury city reminiscent of Dubai, complete with skyscrapers and a lifestyle of opulence. It features Trump reveling in his wealth alongside figures like Elon Musk and Benjamin Netanyahu while being worshiped as a golden god. The animated video crams a lot of information into its 33-second runtime, accompanied by a dance track declaring, “Trump Gaza’s finally here!” The lyrics of the song are:
Donald’s coming to set you free, Bringing the life for all to see. No more tunnels, no more fear, Trump Gaza is finally here. Trump Gaza shining bright, Golden future, a brand-new life. Feast and dance; the deed is done. Trump Gaza No. 1.
The video begins with the current rubble-strewn landscape of Gaza morphing into a scene of children running onto a pristine beach, with yachts and skyscrapers in the distance. The clip rapidly transitions through scenes of luxury shopping districts lined with palm trees, and Elon Musk enjoying a hummus-like dip. The clip features four different scenes of Musk living the high-life in the new Gaza.

The video also showcases Trump enjoying the new luxurious Gaza, as well as several other provocative images. It features Trump dancing with a woman not his wife,

and lounging on a beach with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

The altered reality of the video also implies that Gaza will be ‘freer’ than the United States under Trump, as illustrated by the depiction of bearded, bikini-clad belly dancers in public.

Toward the end of the video, “Trump Gaza” is revealed to be the name of a luxury resort.

Furthermore, Trump envisions the residents of Gaza carrying golden Trump-head balloons.

And basking in the presence of a golden Trump statue, reminiscent of Saddam Hussein.

There are images that showcase that people can also buy small gold Trump statues to worship in their own homes.

Recently, members of the Trump administration have presented the president’s plans for Gaza as a negotiation tactic to incite Arab leaders into action, as reported by the New York Times. After Trump’s initial proposal to expel the entire population of Gaza, his aides reframed the idea as a challenge to leaders in the Middle East: create a better plan, or accept Trump’s vision. “All these countries say how much they care about the Palestinians,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He added, “If the Arab countries have a better plan, then that’s great.” Perhaps some will see this AI video as evidence of Trump’s strategic thinking. However, it might also suggest that Trump is a megalomaniac unconcerned with the fate of Palestinians and is no longer hiding it.
