Mumbai, once India’s financial capital, is now cementing its position as the country’s preeminent technology hub, according to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Speaking at Mumbai Tech Week 2025, Fadnavis declared, “Mumbai has lived its time as the financial capital, but it will always be the tech capital.” His remarks, delivered during a conversation with Rishi Darda, Joint Managing Director & Editorial Director of Lokmat Media, emphasized the city’s pivotal role in spearheading digital transformation, combating cybercrime, and nurturing innovation. Fadnavis highlighted the government’s focus on these areas.
