Trump’s Cabinet: Investments in Bitcoin, Big Tech, and Beyond

Presidential cabinet members often have backgrounds that reflect the diverse nature of the American economy. Many of Donald Trump’s chosen advisors come from the worlds of finance and business, bringing with them portfolios built on a variety of investments. While these individuals may have to divest from certain holdings to avoid conflicts of interest, their current investments offer a glimpse into the financial interests of those shaping policy.

Cabinet members’ financial disclosure reports show that they invest in the stock market and follow trending trades like bitcoin and the Magnificent Seven stocks.

A Deep Dive into the Portfolios

Several members of Trump’s cabinet, including former CEOs and hedge fund managers, hold substantial portfolios. While these portfolios may be complex, they offer some similarities to those of average investors.

Cryptocurrency is a common investment among many of Trump’s cabinet members. They own several different coins, including Bitcoin, Solana, Cronos, Ethereum, and Litecoin, reflecting Trump’s pro-crypto stance.

In addition, many advisors hold stocks from the Magnificent Seven: Nvidia, Apple, Amazon, Meta, Alphabet, Tesla, and Microsoft. Many have also invested in index funds for diversification.

Cabinet members are often required to divest from certain holdings within 90 days of their confirmation to avoid conflicts of interest. Several, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, have pledged to divest from select individual stocks and business interests.

Here’s a look at notable stock and asset holdings from recent Office of Government Ethics (OGE) filings:
