BME Distinguished Lecture Series Featuring Ibraheem Badejo, PhD
Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s (WPI) Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department is hosting a lecture by Dr. Ibraheem Badejo, Sr. R&D Director, External Innovation at Johnson & Johnson MedTech (JJMT).
Dr. Badejo will present on “J&J MedTech and Recent Innovations” on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm in Room 1002 at 60 Prescott Street (Gateway Park I).

Lecture Overview
Johnson & Johnson MedTech is a leading company in the medtech sector, focused on advancing healthcare through biology and technology. Badejo’s presentation will cover JJMT’s key business areas, highlight recent innovations, and describe his role in developing solutions for patients.
Biography
Dr. Badejo currently provides external innovation support and guidance to all platforms within JJMT Surgery. From 2013 to 2021, he worked as New Venture Leader (MedTech) at J&J Innovation Center Boston, where he led the advancement of early-stage innovations now part of JJMT.
Earlier in his career, from 2010 to 2013, Badejo was a Research Fellow at Johnson & Johnson’s Global Surgery Group. From 2006 to 2010, he was the Director of Applied Research & New Technology Assessment of novel biomaterials after beginning his time at J&J through the acquisition of Closure Medical Corp where he was the Chief Scientist. Dr. Badejo is an accomplished inventor with commercialized products and has held several other roles in academia and various medtech companies.
