Adaptive Plus Inc. has announced the sale of its popular AI assistant app, GoatChat.AI, to Newry Global Media, a Spanish media holding company, for an undisclosed amount.
GoatChat.AI gained popularity as an AI assistant tailored for students, particularly in Europe, where it spent 52 weeks in the Top 5 on the Apple App Store charts in 2023.
“We are thankful to our loyal users for their support and feedback during our product development journey, you are the best customers,” stated Yerbol Kopzhassar, CEO and co-founder of Adaptive Plus Inc. “We are confident that new owners will take even better and deliver fantastic user experience.”
GoatChat.AI was designed to aid college students, using customized Large Language Models (LLMs). Students could use the app to ask questions, solve problems, co-browse the internet, and upload textbooks for exam preparation. The developers aimed to provide a superior user experience, using reinforcement learning for their LLMs.
The app also included features such as the ability to create AI twins, generate iPhone wallpapers, and participate in group chats with AI twins and historical figures, leading to approximately 8 million downloads across the App Store and Google Play Store.
Dos Bakytzhan, chairman of the board and co-founder of Adaptive Plus Inc., added, “The team did a fantastic job delivering the product starting from 2021; We pioneered a lot of Ux features like Web Search and custom channels.” Adaptive Plus decided to sell the app in November 2024.
