India’s burgeoning artificial intelligence sector is witnessing a fierce competition for skilled engineers, with AI startups aggressively vying for talent by offering substantial compensation packages.
Market analysts indicate that companies like Krutrim, Sarvam AI, TurboML, Smallest.ai, and Soket Labs are at the forefront of this hiring surge. These firms are offering salaries ranging from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore annually for early-to-mid-career AI engineers. In addition to high salaries, these companies are also including stock options (ESOPs) and flexible work arrangements to sweeten deals and attract the best candidates.
TurboML is actively recruiting engineers and researchers, providing internship stipends of Rs 1 lakh per month and a full-time salary of Rs 80 lakh per year. Meanwhile, the founder of Smallest.ai is offering Rs 40 lakh per annum for full-stack engineers with 0-2 years of experience.
