Amazon Signs Deal for Santa Clara Office Space
Amazon has secured 141,000 square feet of office space at 4980 Great America Parkway in Santa Clara through a licensing agreement with WeWork. The deal represents continued expansion for the tech giant in Silicon Valley. The office building is part of a 450,000-square-foot campus developed and owned by The Sobrato Organization, a prominent Bay Area real estate firm.
This move follows Amazon’s recent agreement to rent a large office building in Mountain View, also facilitated by WeWork. In December, Amazon obtained 217,000 square feet at 401 San Antonio Road in Mountain View through a similar license agreement. These deals signal a potential thaw in the previously sluggish office market in the South Bay.
WeWork’s enterprise solutions provided Amazon with flexible options for its office needs. “We’re pleased to continue supporting Amazon’s real estate strategy through our bespoke enterprise solutions,” said a WeWork spokesperson. The exact timeline for Amazon’s move into the new Santa Clara offices is not immediately clear.
The 4980 Great America Parkway campus is considered prime office space in the region. Previously, other tech companies like Facebook and LinkedIn have occupied space in similar buildings in the area.

These recent leasing agreements indicate that some tech companies are continuing to expand in the Silicon Valley region, despite previous market slowdowns. The deal demonstrates Amazon’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a significant presence in the area.
