Amazon’s devices chief, Panos Panay, is leading a strategy to revamp the Alexa business, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The plan involves the introduction of a premium tier for the next generation of Alexa-powered devices. This new range of higher-end hardware will be sold alongside the existing lower- and mid-priced products.
This move is designed to provide consumers with a more diverse selection of devices and also to inject fresh appeal into the Alexa franchise, which has seen a decrease in popularity in recent years.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to evolve the Alexa platform and maintain Amazon’s dominance in the smart home space.
