Amazon Prime Video has begun streaming reruns of ‘The Apprentice,’ the reality show starring Donald Trump.

The first season of the show is now available, with new seasons slated for weekly release. The seventh season is expected to arrive in April.
The streaming platform also announced it would air a documentary offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the life of First Lady Melania Trump.
Trump’s Reaction
In a statement shared by Amazon, Trump expressed his enthusiasm for the program’s return. He said, “I look forward to watching this show myself — such great memories, and so much fun, but most importantly, it was a learning experience for all of us! The Apprentice is one of the best shows that I ever produced. The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit! Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday.”
Show’s History
‘The Apprentice’ premiered in 2004, prior to Donald Trump’s presidency. The series emerged after Trump’s reported business setbacks in the 1990s significantly impacted his New York real estate empire.
The show featured Trump as a business tycoon judging aspiring entrepreneurs. Contestants competed for his favor, with failures leading to Trump’s signature dismissal, “You’re fired!” The victor secured a high-level position within Trump’s organization.
MGM Alternative owns the series. Amazon’s acquisition of MGM’s parent company three years ago played a global role with Trump’s brand, which fueled his political career.
The show expanded internationally with several adaptations; many continued airing even after the original American version concluded. Despite Trump’s removal in 2015 due to controversial comments, the UK version remains on air via the BBC.
