This fall, football fans and university students alike will experience a more streamlined shopping experience thanks to Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. With the NFL season kicking off, the technology is expanding, with more new stores opening in stadiums than ever before. These include six new stores at Lumen Field in Seattle, seven at Commanders Field near Washington D.C., and the first Just Walk Out store at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

Just in time for the new school year, Amazon is also bringing its Just Walk Out technology to more college campuses this fall. This expansion will bring the total number of university stores using the technology worldwide to over 30.
More Time for the Game, Less Time in Line
Last season, NFL attendance reached nearly 19 million fans. With fans wanting to maximize their time watching the game, long concession lines have become a common frustration. Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology provides a quick and convenient solution to this issue.

Across the country, stadiums are deploying this checkout-free technology to improve fan experience. Fans can enter a concession stand equipped with Just Walk Out technology, grab their desired items, and quickly return to their seats without waiting in line.
This fall, Lumen Field will open five new traditional Just Walk Out stores, along with one radio-frequency identification (RFID)-enabled store. The RFID store will broaden the range of available items to include clothing, hats, and other fan gear. With these new openings, Lumen Field will have 15 Just Walk Out locations, the most of any venue in the world. Just Walk Out stores first launched at Lumen Field in 2022, and the technology has been a success for both fans and retailers. During the 2022 season, the first Just Walk Out store at Lumen Field saw a 60% increase in customer throughput. Transactions per game doubled compared to the traditional concession stand previously in the same location.
By early 2023, transactions per game in that same location increased 85%, while total sales per game grew by 112%. The Just Walk Out store at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami was the highest-throughput stand in terms of halftime revenue and total transactions during the 2023 season, with year-over-year sales growth of approximately 50%. Fans were able to complete their shopping trips quickly, with average shopping sessions under one minute.
Commanders fans will have even more reason to cheer with seven new Just Walk Out locations opening within the stadium, which marks the most store launches at once for a sports stadium. M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore will debut the technology with the first Just Walk Out store opening at the start of this season.
Just Walk Out technology is also in use at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. With these new locations, Just Walk Out is available in more than 80 sports stadiums and arenas throughout the U.S., UK, Australia, and Canada.
Increased Convenience Across Campuses

This school year, new Just Walk Out stores are opening at Emory University, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Maine, and the University of Virginia.
