This fall, football fans and college students can look forward to skipping the checkout line, thanks to Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. As NFL teams kick off their seasons this week, the technology is expanding to stadiums, with six new stores at Seattle’s Lumen Field, seven at Commanders Field outside Washington D.C., and a first-time store opening at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium.

And just in time for the school year, the convenience of Just Walk Out technology is expanding to more college campuses, bringing the total to over 30 university stores worldwide.
More Time for the Game
With nearly 19 million NFL fans attending games last season, the desire for a seamless experience is clear. Long concession lines have been a growing source of frustration, and Just Walk Out technology offers a solution. By allowing fans to quickly grab what they need and return to their seats, the technology enhances the game-day experience.
Just Walk Out technology allows fans to enter a concession stand, grab whatever they want, and quickly get back to their seats, without having to wait in a checkout line.
Lumen Field is enhancing its offerings this fall with five new traditional Just Walk Out concession stores and one RFID-enabled store, which will expand the checkout-free experience to include clothing and fan gear. With these additions, Lumen Field will have 15 Just Walk Out locations, the most of any venue globally.

Since the technology’s launch at Lumen Field in 2022, it has proven popular with fans and retail partners. During the 2022 season, the first Just Walk Out store at Lumen Field saw a 60% increase in customer throughput, with transactions per game doubling compared to the previous traditional concession stand. By early 2023, transactions per game were up 85%, and total sales per game increased by 112% in that location. At Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the Just Walk Out store generated the highest revenue and transactions during halftime in the 2023 season, with sales growing approximately 50% year-over-year. Shoppers also benefited from average transaction times under one minute.

Commanders fans will have seven new Just Walk Out locations, representing the largest simultaneous launch for the technology in a sports stadium. Just Walk Out technology will also make its debut at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium at the start of this season.
Just Walk Out technology is also operational in stadiums such as Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. With these new openings, Just Walk Out technology is now available in over 80 sports stadiums and arenas across the U.S., UK, Australia, and Canada.
