Amorepacific Chief to Meet with Microsoft CEO
Amorepacific Group Chairman Suh Kyung-bae is set to meet with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on March 25 in Seoul, sparking anticipation for a collaboration that could bring cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to the beauty industry.
According to industry sources, the meeting will be a one-on-one business discussion. Nadella’s visit to Korea is part of his schedule to attend the Microsoft AI Tour event in Seoul on March 26 at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong.
This marks Nadella’s first visit to Korea in two years, following his appearance at the MS Ignite Spotlight on Korea in November 2022. While his prior visit included meetings with top executives from the IT sector, including NCSoft Corp. CEO Kim Taek-jin, this will be the first time he meets with the head of a K-beauty company.
During the meeting, Suh and Nadella are expected to explore ways to integrate Microsoft’s AI technologies into Amorepacific’s business operations and product offerings.
Industry analysts predict that the collaboration could boost Amorepacific’s investments in personalized skin analysis and bespoke cosmetics manufacturing, creating new synergies in beauty tech. Furthermore, Microsoft’s cloud services could be leveraged to optimize Amorepacific’s operational systems, increasing the efficiency of product development and improving demand forecasting accuracy.
Nadella is also expected to introduce Azure OpenAI (AOAI), a platform that combines Microsoft’s Azure cloud service with OpenAI’s generative AI model, GPT, during his visit. The meeting is anticipated to pave the way for a wider collaboration between Microsoft and Korea’s beauty sector, with Amorepacific leading the way.

Amorepacific has long been at the forefront of beauty tech, having invested in AI and data-driven innovations for over a decade. The company has recently partnered with KAIST and Samsung Electronics on technological collaborations. Wanna Beauty AI, which received an Innovation Award at CES 2025, was co-developed with KAIST and uses AI-powered image generation to provide customized makeup recommendations and virtual beauty experiences through voice-based generative AI.
The company has also commercialized customized skincare technologies through its beauty device brand MakeON, which was launched in 2014. Amorepacific has participated in CES annually since 2020, earning six consecutive Innovation Awards and solidifying its leadership in Korea’s beauty tech industry. In January 2025, Suh personally attended CES, demonstrating his significant interest in AI technology.
