The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) has selected Greg Hessinger to take over as President, succeeding Carol Lombardini, the organization announced today.
Hessinger brings a wealth of experience to the role, notably his background as a lawyer and his previous position as CEO of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
His appointment places him at the helm of the AMPTP at a critical juncture, with major labor negotiations on the horizon. Key among these will be upcoming contract talks with various guilds, including SAG-AFTRA, starting next year. This will be a pivotal task, given the recent high-profile strikes in the entertainment industry.
The AMPTP represents the major studios and production companies that negotiate with the various unions and guilds that represent the entertainment industry’s workforce. Hessinger’s experience in both law and with SAG makes him well-suited to navigate the complexities ahead. The entertainment industry will be watching closely as Hessinger assumes this important position.
