BOSTON, March 3, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Amwell® (NYSE: AMWL), a leader in technology-enabled care, has appointed Dan Zamansky as its new chief product and technology officer, effective immediately. Zamansky brings over a decade of experience from Amazon, where he played a key role in developing and scaling cloud-based health initiatives.

Zamansky will lead the company’s product and research and development (R&D) organizations. His primary focus will be on Amwell’s technology-enabled care platform, which serves payers and health systems. The goal is to ensure the platform evolves to meet the increasing demand for online care solutions, supporting the company’s mission to redefine healthcare delivery.

Before joining Amwell, Zamansky spent over a decade at Amazon, where he held leadership roles in product management, engineering, and technology. He founded and led AWS Health AI, Amazon’s cloud initiative focused on democratizing access to artificial intelligence (AI) technology for healthcare and life sciences customers. He also oversaw product and technology teams across various AWS and Amazon Ads initiatives.

According to Ido Schoenberg, M.D., chairman and CEO of Amwell, “Dan’s proven track record leading global and cross-functional teams responsible for platform services, AI, and product management give him the right mix of experience to drive synergies and support Amwell’s path to profitable growth while powering the digital care aspirations of our clients.” Schoenberg added that Zamansky’s experience aligns with Amwell’s goal of improving operational efficiency, optimizing cash flow, and delivering profitable growth.

Zamansky succeeds Vaughn Paunovich, who served as chief product and technology officer since 2022. Schoenberg acknowledged Paunovich’s contributions, stating, “I want to thank Vaughn for his many contributions. He guided Amwell through a time of re-platforming, resulting in a more efficient and effective R&D organization. His partnership, expertise and leadership have been invaluable to our team.”
