Apple Announces Major Investment, Including Houston Facility
Apple has announced a significant $500 billion investment in the United States over the next four years. The tech giant plans to open a new facility in Houston, Texas, creating thousands of jobs, according to a company announcement.
Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the investment will generate 20,000 new jobs across multiple states. Houston will be the location of a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) server factory, contributing significantly to this job creation. This move could help Apple avoid tariffs on goods imported from China.
The company’s investment and expansion will span nine states, including Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Oregon, North Carolina, and Washington. The $500 billion commitment encompasses work with thousands of suppliers across all 50 states, direct employment, Apple Intelligence infrastructure, data centers, corporate facilities, and Apple TV+ productions in 20 states.

“As a proud American company, we’re thrilled to continue to make significant investments in the U.S. Today, we’re announcing a $500 billion commitment to support American innovation, advanced manufacturing, and high-tech job creation,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
President Trump responded to the announcement on Truth Social, expressing his gratitude, “APPLE HAS JUST ANNOUNCED A RECORD 500 BILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THE REASON, FAITH IN WHAT WE ARE DOING, WITHOUT WHICH, THEY WOULDN’T BE INVESTING TEN CENTS. THANK YOU TIM COOK AND APPLE!!!”
New Houston Facility to Create Jobs
Apple anticipates creating 20,000 new jobs across the country in the coming four years. A significant portion of these jobs will be in the Houston area, where the company plans to build a 250,000-square-foot AI server factory, set to open in 2026. Although the specific location has not been disclosed, the servers, previously manufactured outside the U.S., will now be assembled in Houston.
Local Leadership Reacts
Houston Mayor John Whitmire stated, “I am pleased with today’s announcement and would like to give a shout-out to Apple for plans to bring a state-of-the-art facility to Houston. My administration believes in collaborating with corporations to ensure they know Houston is a place of opportunity. We have the talent and a can-do attitude to get things done. Last year, Chevron announced its move from California to Houston. Today, Vestas, a leading global wind turbine manufacturer, is opening a new corporate offer in Houston. Apple’s announcement is a powerful message to everyone that the City of Houston is recognized as a place to live and work and the best major city America to do business.””
The news was initially reported in a press released from Apple.
