AWS Launches Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance Thailand
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the launch of its Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance Program in Thailand, aiming to develop emerging technology and cloud skill talent in support of Thailand’s digital transformation goals. Since 2017, AWS has trained over 50,000 individuals in Thailand with cloud skills.
The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report in 2025 highlighted that skill gaps in the labor market are the primary barrier to business transformation, cited by 63% of surveyed employers. To address this, the Tech Alliance Thailand will work closely with government agencies, educational institutions, and employers to build a comprehensive skills-to-jobs ecosystem.
Collaboration with Government Agencies and Educational Institutions
AWS will collaborate with government agencies such as the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO). The company will provide industry-validated skills insights to support MHESI’s nationwide initiative of developing comprehensive skills pathways. This will enable Thai educational institutions to align their curricula with industry demands.
Leading educational institutions in Thailand, including Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), and Mahidol University, will work with AWS to integrate industry-aligned cloud computing curriculum and provide students with hands-on technical training.
Industry Partnerships and Applied Learning Activities
The Tech Alliance will bring together major Thai enterprises committed to developing local tech talent. These employers will provide valuable insights on skills maps and hiring needs and engage students directly through applied learning activities such as tech talks, job preparation events, and technical skilling events.
Students participating in Tech Alliance initiatives will have the opportunity to develop in-demand technical skills and connect directly with potential employers. This initiative is part of AWS’s continued investment in Thailand’s digital future, including the newly launched AWS Asia Pacific (Thailand) Region, which is projected to contribute over $10 billion to Thailand’s GDP and support over 11,000 full-time equivalent jobs annually.
AWS Education Programs
AWS offers various education programs in Thailand, including AWS Academy, AWS Educate, and AWS re/Start. These programs aim to prepare students for industry-recognized AWS certifications and high-demand jobs in cloud computing.
“The launch of AWS Tech Alliance Thailand demonstrates our long-term commitment to developing cloud skills and creating opportunities for Thai citizens,” said Vatsun Thirapatarapong, Country Leader, Thailand. “By bringing together government, academia, and industry, we aim to build a sustainable pipeline of tech talent to support Thailand’s growing digital economy.”
