Bactana Corp. to be Acquired by Kemin Industries, Accelerating Market Introduction of Groundbreaking Anaerobic Bacteria Technology
FARMINGTON, Conn., May 12, 2025 – Bactana Corp., a pioneering biotechnology company focused on advancements in anaerobic bacteria isolation and fermentation, today announced its agreement to be acquired by Kemin Industries, Inc., a global leader in ingredient manufacturing dedicated to improving quality of life through sustainable products and services.
The acquisition aligns with Kemin’s strategic vision to explore emerging technologies in intestinal health, further solidifying their industry position. “This acquisition represents a significant milestone for Kemin’s continued commitment to innovation in the intestinal health space,” said Kimberly Nelson, President of Kemin Nutrisurance.
For Bactana, the acquisition marks the culmination of years of dedicated research and development that began at Cornell University and continued through their successful participation in the UConn Technology Incubation Program (UConn TIP) in Farmington, CT. The resources provided by UConn TIP have been instrumental in advancing Bactana’s innovative research and preparing their solutions for market launch.
