Baseus Portable Chargers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for certain Baseus 65W 30000mAh portable chargers sold on Amazon.com and other platforms. The recall affects model number BS-30KP365, which was sold in black and white colors.
Hazard Details
The lithium-ion battery in the recalled portable chargers can overheat, posing a significant fire hazard to consumers. Baseus has received 76 reports of incidents involving these chargers, including 72 cases of bulging and four reports of fires that resulted in three instances of property damage.
Identification of Recalled Products
Consumers can identify the recalled products by checking the model number and serial number on the bottom label. The affected products have:
- Model number: BS-30KP365
- Serial number starting with “SN” and ending in either a number (0-9) or the letter “D”
- “65w” printed on the front of the device
Consumer Action Required
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled portable chargers and contact Baseus to receive a free replacement charger. The replacement will have the same model number (BS-30KP365) but with a serial number ending in the letter “A”.
To obtain the replacement, consumers must:
- Visit the Baseus recall registration page at https://www.baseus.com/pages/recall_select_BS-30KP365
- Submit a photo of the recalled charger showing the model and serial number
- For consumers without an order number, write their name and date on the charger in permanent marker before photographing
- Confirm proper disposal of the recalled charger according to local regulations
