Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is set to host a Computer Technology Career Event designed to introduce middle and high school students to the diverse career paths within the technology sector. The free event, presented in collaboration with BPCC’s Computer Technology Program and Cyber.org, will take place on Tuesday, March 4th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Coach Billy Montgomery Gymnasium on the BPCC Bossier Campus, located at 6220 E. Texas Ave.
Attendees will have the chance to interact with professionals currently working in the industry, participate in a live Q&A panel, and learn about potential career paths in fields such as IT, cybersecurity, software development, and networking. This event provides a valuable opportunity for students to explore the possibilities available to them in the rapidly growing technology field, equipping them with insights into the skills and knowledge required for future success.
In related news, BPCC is also preparing for its Middle School Summer Camp. The camp will focus on Arduinos, which are programmable microcontrollers, offering students hands-on experience with coding. The camp will use the Inventor’s Kit from SparkFun Electronics.
There is no cost to attend the camp, but space is limited to the first 30 students who register. To be eligible to participate, students must be entering the 7th, 8th, or 9th grade. Interested individuals are encouraged to register promptly via the BPCC Middle School Summer Camp Registration link to secure their spot.
